Creative Strategy Director
Karam joined ghg in 2010, and has recently moved into creative strategy where he helps key accounts find their place, build up their brand identity and voice and amplify their opinion in an increasingly multi-channel market. Previously Head of Copy at the London office, Karam has over 15 years of experience writing brand-building promotional and health awareness campaigns across a wide range of Rx, OTC and DTC areas, including orthopaedics, surgical devices, infection, smoking cessation (Champix), antipsychotics, nutrition, cardiovascular, skincare, diabetes, HIV, osteoporosis and hand washing. Specific antibiotic/anti-infective experience includes Avelox, Ceftatroline, Biocomposites, Masta Vaccines, Sustiva and the GSK HIV portfolio.
With a background in Biochemistry (BSc Hons) with Business and Philosophy from Warwick University, Karam specialised in science communications. He also has experience working across the healthcare sector, in NHS theatres, as a medical sales representative and on the agency side.
Karam is fascinated about people’s relationships with their own health, bodies and healthcare, and believes this is a thrilling time to be working in the healthcare communications arena, a business that is on the verge of great shift in enlightenment driven by technology, diagnostics and monitoring, science, patient empowerment and communication. In his own words, “there has never been a more exciting time to be creative engaging communications, tools and experiences. However, talking your audience’s language is still fundamental to creating a successful and meaningful communication”.
When not obsessing over communications in the digital age, Karam amuses himself with photography and playing squash and the art of disappearance.
