Head of Medical
Vicky joined ghg in 2015 and is responsible for all medical and science-based copy in the ghg London creative department. Before joining the medical communications arena in 2010, Vicky was a research scientist, with a PhD in Biochemistry from the Institute of Cancer Research and over eight years of academic research experience investigating the role of cell signalling pathways in oncology under her belt.
Vicky has significant experience of both worlds of scientific communication: as a scientist, she is the author of four primary research papers and two book chapters. As a communications professional, she has worked as an editorial lead across a wide range of therapy areas, including oncology (solid tumours and haematological malignancies), immunology, neurology, respiratory disorders and eczema.
Vicky has led the development of medical education activities for local and global markets and audiences, including all stages of product communication such as detail aids, branding workshops and creative messaging materials for local and international meetings.
Vicky has extensive experience of writing and leading the development of strategic and educational materials, providing editorial support, developing therapy area-specific communications objectives and scientific platforms and internal and external training materials. She has developed market access materials, including value messages and accompanying dossiers. As Head of Medical, she ensures that the creative concepts created in-house are underpinned by the highest standards of medical accuracy, so that the resulting work contains the medical and scientific depth that speaks to both physician and consumer audiences.
As well as her PhD, Vicky holds a first-class degree in Biochemistry from University College London. In her spare time, Vicky is an avid runner, can lift weights and spin and loves good food, fine wine and exciting travel.
